This is the โ€œLoose Parts Libraryโ€โ€” it is exactly what it sounds like! It is a place for the kids to freely choose what loose parts they want to play with (loops, mini cars, little world items, road signs, beads, doodads, etc.) and a filler to use (rice, kinetic sand, Pluffle, macaroni and chickpeas)!

Just as with any library, they can โ€œborrowโ€ a drawer or two, but need to return it at the end of playing and materials need to stay in the library area!

This has been a HUGE hit and form of entertainment over the past few weeks. It allows them the independence they crave, while still putting small boundaries on sensory play. The best part is that I can switch out the loose parts periodically for brand new play!
