This party was so much fun! These are actually pictures from two different parties… four years apart. My current four year-old wanted a fire fighter party for his birthday, and when my oldest son turned four, he wanted the same. There were some things we added this time around and some things we took away, but all in all both parties were a huge success, and really, really fun to throw and enjoy! I will fill you in on some of the things that made this party a success!
🔥FAKE FOAM FIRE:
I purchased small pieces of foam and layered colors yellow, orange and red flames. I used some sticky poster tack and put them up all over the yard and play spaces we didn't mind getting wet. Super quick and easy!

🔥FIRE HOUSE SQUIRTERS AND BACKPACK BLASTER:
These again were purchased from Amazon and are just water squirters. We set out big tubs and small pools of water for the kiddos to fill up their "hoses" and then they sprayed and put out all of the fires!

🔥FIRE TRUCK BOXES:
Okay... this one is definitely more complex and was easier to do when I had 2 children instead of 4-- so we didn't include them this year. But these were SO much fun to make and the kids loved them! We used Amazon boxes of all sizes big, blue paper plates or bowls, tempura paint and tiny red solo cup shot glasses! We cut hand-holes in the sides and the kids ran around with them and their "hoses". 3-4 trucks were enough for all of the kids to rotate through and take turns with them.

🔥FIREFIGHTER PHOTO PROP:
We did not have a backdrop decoration for the original party, but we were so lucky to have my sister make this amazing photo prop. The kids loved getting their pictures taken as a firefighter! If you are crafty or know someone who is, all you need is some foam board, paint and talent! This year, we used fire truck tents and a firehouse backdrop (neither are pictured, but worked out awesome for pictures).

🔥PRETEND PLAY FIRE TOWN:
This is a project that took a bit longer, but has lasted WAY past party day! I painted some scrap wood planks black and added chalk street lines. I then brought out our big wooden doll house and all of our many fire trucks and emergency vehicles and parked them in the "firehouse"! The kiddos used the planks as roads all over a make-believe town and fixed emergencies. So much fun!
🔥FIRE HATS AND OUTFITS:
These were the hit of the party! We only used fire hats at the original party. I used leftover foam pieces to write kiddos names on their hats (just used glue to glue them on the front). I also wrote kiddos' names on the inside of the fire outfits as well! They took these home, along with a water squirter as their party favors!
