Objects just seem so much more engaging and play-worthy when they are created by the ones playing with them! My boy clan here 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐒 painting. It hasn't always been this way, but as they are getting older, painting and creating seems to be an awesome common theme with my little people. It's sometimes hard for me to sit back and not dictate how I want them to design things. But... with a deep breath and open-mind, I'm learning to let it go and allow them to be their own artists! 😮💨
We have lots of scrap wood and decided to create a wooden roadway and town. Biggest brother painted all of the road pieces with acrylic paint and the other boys painted "buildings". They played a long time with their creations once they were dry. The pieces sit on our covered deck and are alway out and available for play!
Don't be afraid to let your little people play an active role in creating and decorating items in their own way!
